Personal Payments Overview

Welcome to Personal Payments.

The Personal Payments team look after the overseas currency requirements for private individuals. We provide bank to bank transfers for a variety of reasons.

Whether you are buying or selling a house, car or boat abroad, making regular overseas mortgage or maintenance payments, receiving investments/ savings income or transferring pension payments overseas, we will be happy to help every step of the way.

How do I get started?

It’s easy to get set up, simply fill in the online registration form. It takes a couple of minutes to complete and you will get an account opening confirmation email to inform you when everything is set up and ready to go.

Accounts are usually set up within 24 hours. If we need any further documentation to support your application, we will contact you to let you know.

Once set up, we can lock in rates for you immediately and walk you through the next steps of making an overseas payment. We can also provide you with rate trackers to keep an eye on the market for you if you have a target rate or even discuss our forward contract offering which allows you to a secure a rate today for a date in the future.

Making Regular Payments?

If you are looking to send regular payments overseas, we can set up a direct debit facility to streamline the process. The funds will come direct out of your UK bank account and the payments can be made on a specified date with no need to contact us.

We will need some further documentation in order to set this automated service up.

What additional documentation may be required?

If you’re making a payment over £100,000 to a third party, we will require proof of purchase such as an invoice or lawyer’s letter to support the transaction. This information is also required if you’re transferring funds over £250,000 to your own currency account.

In some instances we may need to request further documentation to support an application for an account. We will contact you and let you know if this is needed after we have received your application.
