Senior Software Developer
Through the course of its evolution Travelex Global Business Payments (TGBP) has become the world’s leading foreign exchange and business payments specialist, processing payments to 1 million beneficiaries annually through its global banking network, which provides immediate, reliable delivery and receipt of outgoing and incoming funds. The division currently has operations in 13 countries, meeting the payment needs of more than 35,000 businesses and 750 financial institutions worldwide.
The Senior Software Developer will be part of our Technical Solutions department and reporting into the Manager, Software Development to work with the in-house application development team that creates and maintains the systems that help run and drive the business.
Applications focus on the acquisition and processing of international and domestic business payments and cash management services.
Responsibilities
The Software Developer aids in the analysis, design and development of software-based systems and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of internal business customers.
- Works at the direction of the Manager, Software Development
- Analyzes, designs and develops software-based solutions meeting business needs
- Supports existing software-based technical solutions
- Handles complex application features and technical designs
- Handles multiple development projects concurrently
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or at least 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- 2-4 years experience in Microsoft ASP/ASP.Net development
- 2-3 years experience in Microsoft .Net C# development
- 2-4 years experience in Microsoft SQL 2000/2005.2008 development
- 2-4 years experience in data-centric application development
- 2-4 years experience OLTP development
- Excellent understanding of and experience with the following application capabilities/properties: Multi-user applications, Data-centric applications, Real-time Transaction Processing, Financial Transaction Processing, Mission-Critical Systems, Services, Batch Processing, User Experience technologies and approaches
- Proven software development experience in the field or related area
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong skills in and knowledge of software development lifecycle process and application design
- Strong analytical skills for understanding both business and technical problems
- Business Payments and/or Financial Services domain experience a plus
