TRAVELEX OFFERS CHARITIES FEE-FREE PAYMENTS TO AID HAITI
In light of the ongoing crisis in Haiti, Travelex Global Business Payments in the U.S and Canada announced today that it was committing to fee-free payments for all North American-based charity clients until the end of February 2010.
David Sear, Divisional Managing Director of TGBP, said, “The stoicism and bravery of the charity workers out there in the field needs to be recognized.
“During this time of crisis, we felt it was essential to remember all of our charity partners– not just those helping in Haiti. As the situation becomes increasingly desperate, reconstruction becomes an even bigger priority and we hope our ongoing donation will help towards this, as well as the initial recovery period.
Chris Ashworth, spokesperson at Oxfam, said, “We want to thank everyone involved at Travelex Global Business Payments and to its customers that are responding to our appeal. Whilst we’re witnessing one of the worst humanitarian situations in decades, it is this type of support that gives everyone hope.”
The money raised by TGBP in the U.S and Canada will help provide food, clean water, hygiene kits and medical assistance, as well as reconstruction kits for people whose homes are salvageable.
